I’m Jackie and have been an artist as long as I can remember. I have a BFA in art and wear many hats; Artist, Teacher, Antique Dealer and Jewelry Designer. I find that they are all intertwined.
My jewelry designing came to me in the form of a gift. After the death of my father, a dear friend designed and made me a prayer strand commemorating my father’s life. I was so touched, it inspired me to do the same for my mother and sister. This started me on my journey to designing and making my own unique jewelry.
I have had a fascination with middle eastern tribal jewelry which I have collected for years. I loved the history of the pieces with the dents and dings which signified they were well worn. It was only a small step to incorporate these wonderful tribal findings coupled with semi-precious stones into my own creations. I also use antique pins and other antique pieces in my jewelry. My initial inspiration comes from each finding and then I build the necklace around it.
Beauty is my inspiration - be it nature, a finely crafted antique piece of jewelry, art or friends
